We’re looking for a designer who can bring “animated characters to life in the real world”. You‘ll decide: How should a robot tilt its head when curious? How does it “sigh” when frustrated? You don’t need to worry about motion algorithms (that’s the engineers’ job), If you love Pixar’s character magic and believe robots should have soul, this is your role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the robot’s character identity (personality, backstory, emotional language);
- Design expression systems (eye animations, voice tone matching);
- Create a motion style library ((including 'performance' styles for scenarios like walking, dancing, acting coy, or expressing anger);
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs can be executed smoothly on hardware;
- Optimize emotional expressiveness through working with the user testing team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from design or comprehensive universities without work experience restrictions (Maya/AE mastery);
- Strong portfolio in expressions/motion design (games, animation, etc.);
- Passion for “breathing life into robotics";
- Excellent aesthetics and artistic sense, with a certain degree of innovation.
