HSBC Global Research is an independent research house with a strong focus on Emerging Markets (EMs). We have 350 analysts covering 1,900 companies globally. Our analysts, based out of 24 countries, are spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.
With a particular focus on EMs, as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, we provide regular comment and analysis on topics including economics, currencies, fixed income and equities. Our goal is to generate unrivalled investment opportunities for our clients by sharing our insights and creating thought-provoking ideas.
As a member of the Global Research team in Guangzhou, you will be working with an onshore counterpart on financial modelling, analysis and report writing to support the research output in the Asian equity/strategy research.
What you’ll do:
? Work closely with onshore analyst based out of Hong Kong
? Create, maintain and update models on a regular basis with guidance from onshore counterparts
? Conduct fundamental and financial analysis on industry and individual companies
? Make meaningful contributions to research reports with guidance from onshore counterparts
? Maintain and update various databases
? Track and analyse regulatory changes and their impact on our coverage
? Keeps the global team appraised of new developments by monitoring news and events
? Work on various client requests independently and in a timely and accurate manner
? Work on global products, when required
? Respond quickly, efficiently and accurately to ad-hoc requests

Skill Set
? Ability to read and write Mandarin
? Competitive proficiency in written and spoken English
? Knowledge and understanding of various valuation methodologies and metrics as well as financial modelling skills would be expected
? Good written and oral/presentation skills
? Proficient in written and spoken English and Mandarin/Cantonese
Qualifications
? Post Graduate Finance / MBA or equivalent from a reputed university
? Candidates who are CPA/CFA Charter holders or pursuing CPA/CFA will be preferred
Experience
? Minimum 1-2 years in a related field within Financial Services
? Understanding of financial markets and various asset classes is a must
