The Digital Mockup (DMU) Specialist Engineer is responsible for creating, managing, and validating virtual vehicle models to ensure accurate integration of components and systems before physical prototypes are built. This role focuses on data structure creation and maintenance, clash detection, and compliance with dimensional and ergonomic standards using advanced DMU tools. The DMU Specialist acts as a key interface between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to optimize product development timelines and quality.
Key Responsibilities
? Develop and maintain complete digital mockups of vehicles and subsystems using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
? Perform clash detection, clearance analysis, and enable packaging validation to ensure component compatibility.
? Support virtual build processes and provide recommendations for data structure improvements based on DMU findings.
? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DMU results into design and development decisions.
? Prepare and present DMU validation reports to stakeholders and project management.
? Continuously improve DMU methodologies and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Stay updated on latest DMU tools, technologies, and best practices in automotive development.
University degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related field.
Strong experience in DMU processes, virtual validation, and packaging analysis.
Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter DMU tools.
Knowledge of clash detection, clearance analysis, and dimensional standards.
Excellent communication skills in English (German preferred).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Experience in automotive product development and virtual build processes.
