Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to deploy and lead the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams, with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will drive the local quality system through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by coordinating the efforts of all necessary local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance and ensuring that the necessary certification requirements are met throughout the organization.
The work model for the role is: Onsite
This role is contributing to the Solutions center under distribution solutions division in China.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Ensuring appropriate internal and external communication relevant to quality management system (including all key areas of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Supplier Quality).
- Implementing short, medium- and long-term strategy, activities, and planning to develop the quality management system, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the local management team.
- Establishing a closed-loop quality cycle from engineering design to customer experience feedback to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.
- Works within ABB local organizational units/functions to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers.
- Drives the vision for zero defects and establishes mechanisms to ensure that requirements from ABB, customers, and stakeholders are fulfilled, focusing on prevention rather than only control.
Qualifications for the role
- Ability to demonstrate your established skills, preferably having at least 8 years’ work experience in the quality management field, preferably having both experience in quality assurance and quality control.
- Possess an enhanced knowledge of quality management tools/ methodology, i.e. L6S, TQMS etc.
- Having hands on quality control expertise in engineered products and systems integration will be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering discipline. Having QMS-related qualification is a plus, i.e. ISO 9001 auditor qualification, L6S green or above etc.
- You are at ease communicating in English.
