JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will support
the PIC RD team and NPI team in the testing and characterizing silicon photonic ICs using optical/electrical test equip
ment. This role will work with NPI team in the development and debugging of specific test equipment, perform data
analysis and debug the tester. A strong emphasis on communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities is expected.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Work with NPI team, characterize Sipho IC performance, including DC performance test, RF bandwidth related test and
visual inspection improvements
? Data analysis for the testing data, pin down issues on testers or DUTs (devices under the test)
? Work with RD team, set up and maintain NPI optical and electrical test environment
? Design and debug test methods and fixtures to characterize optical alignment systems
? Renew and upload documents related to operation of testing/VMI systems if needed
? Draft application notes for Sipho PIC
? Responsible for providing design feedback to development engineering to improve device performance
? Maintain test equipment and instrument calibration, identify and purchase test parts
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
(Include Education, Skills & Experience)
? Master’s degree or above in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optics and Optical Engineering, Physics or related field
? A minimum of 3 years of industry experience preferred, or less experienced candidate with exceptional track record of
related work
? Hands on experience with optical chip, component and system-level prototyping and testing for Telecommunications or
Data Center Interconnect (DCI) product development.
? Working knowledge and experience with manufacturing support, such as optical component testing and performance
evaluation.
? Fluent in programming skills in a PC/Windows environment using C, Python to enable test scripting and automation
? Data collection, analysis and reporting data analysis tools such as JMP, Matlab and MS Excel.
? Self-motivated, creative, teamwork oriented
? Based in Coherent Shanghai RD office. Routine travel to Wuxi NPI site is expected.
