Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Planner & Procurement Specialist to oversee material planning and execute procurement activities. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to ensure optimal inventory levels, timely procurement of materials, and seamless coordination between production, suppliers, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will balance cost efficiency with operational effectiveness while maintaining compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and maintain material requirement plans to align with production schedules and customer demand.
● Set up rolling forecast and planned orders for next 6~12 months based on S&OP(sales, operation planning)
● Review customer changed request and work with production planner and purchasing team to provide the best delivery schedule and tradeoff proposal.
● Control inventory level to be in line with company target, optimal material availability and stock turnover.
● Do the analysis for RM inventory twice per month and follow up the action plan to improve the inventory.
● Continuously optimize planning strategy, e.g. safety stock, safety time, Re-order point, lot size, etc.
● Prepare data and submit daily/weekly and monthly KPI report.
● Monitor PO status, ensure PO are well maintained and alert late in SAP to purchasing team.
● Process purchase orders and manage supplier relationships for raw materials, components and services.
● Track order status, resolve delivery discrepancies and ensure on-time supplier performance
● Follow-up production process and coordinate with shopfloor team to resolve production, raw material shortage and quality problems.
● Coordinate new product introduction and ECR implementation
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
● Experience in material planning and procurement in manufacturing industries with more than 5years.
● Familiar with SAP system, MM module, key user experience is preferred
● Sensitive to data, able to use Excel/PBI to analyze past trends/history for future planning.
● Good communication skills, good analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Good sense of responsibility and team spirit with pro-active, logic thinking ability.
● Good command of written and oral English.
