Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Consultant with a strong background in Variant Configuration (LO-VC) and its integration with SAP PP and QM modules. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and configuring configurable products in SAP, ensuring smooth integration with production planning and quality processes. The role requires close collaboration with business users, technical teams, and manufacturing stakeholders to deliver effective end-to-end solutions for complex manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Variant Configuration (VC) for complex product structures.
· Build and manage VC models including characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, object dependencies (procedures, constraints, preconditions), and super BOMs/routings.
· Integrate VC models with SAP PP for planned orders, production orders, and shop floor execution.
· Support automated routing selection, work center allocation, and BOM explosion based on configuration.
· Collaborate with the QM team to define and integrate inspection characteristics and quality plans related to configurable products.
· Configure QM in production for in-process inspections and final inspections of configurable materials.
· Participate in SAP implementations, rollouts, enhancements, and support activities.
· Collaborate with ABAP developers to support custom enhancements and troubleshoot user issues related to configurable products in manufacturing processes.
· Conduct functional testing (unit, integration, and UAT), create documentation, and support end-user training.
· Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality) to streamline product variant creation and maintenance processes.
Required Skills:
· Minimum of 9 years of experience in SAP, with at least 5 years in Variant Configuration (LO-VC).
· Strong experience with SAP PP module: BOM, routings, production orders, MRP, capacity planning.
· Good understanding of SAP QM module: inspection types, inspection lots, quality notifications, results recording, and usage decision.
· In-depth knowledge of configurable materials, super BOMs, super routings, and object dependencies.
· Hands-on experience in integrating VC with production execution and quality processes.
· Experience working in make-to-order (MTO) or engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environments.
· Familiarity with multi-level variant configuration and knowledge-based configuration (KBE) is a plus.
· Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
· Strong debugging and issue resolution skills related to PP/VC integration.
· Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
· SAP Certification in PP, QM, or LO-VC is an advantage.
· Experience with SAP S/4HANA VC environment is highly preferred.
· Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), SAP ECTR, or integration with CAD tools is a plus.
· Experience in discrete manufacturing industries like automotive, industrial equipment, high-tech, or medical devices.
