Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including reviewing accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual audits.
  • Manage and maintain the Chart of Accounts.
Financial Analysis & Planning:
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
Fundraising Support:
  • Prepare financial materials for investor presentations and due diligence.
  • Support the development of financial projections and valuation models for fundraising rounds.
  • Maintain accurate records of investor information and transactions.
  • Help prepare data rooms for due diligence.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Recommend and implement financial software and tools.
  • Streamline financial reporting processes.
Other Duties:
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as needed.
  • Provide support to other departments on financial matters.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a startup environment or Big 4 consulting firm/equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with fundraising processes is a strong plus.
  • Candidates with a startup mindset will have an advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with venture capital or private equity.
