PURPOSE and SCOPE OF THE JOB
The post holder is responsible to develop and execute strategies to engage with non-financial supporters and empower campaigns through digital channels and with digital tools.
Managing Greenpeace's online social media in Mainland China, including moderating, creating content, encouraging conversation, deepening engagement and growing communities. Additionally working with campaign project teams to deliver engaging, innovative and effective digital campaigns that meet the goals of Greenpeace’s overarching program strategy. Working within project teams, design and implement strategies to mobilize supporters to build campaign power and strengthen the Greenpeace movement, while also constructing engaging supporter journeys.
The Digital Content Campaigner is responsible for digital campaign implementation across social media, email and other digital platforms. The Digital Content Campaigner's job will be metric-driven and ensure Greenpeace is maximizing the daily and long-term opportunities to communicate with its supporters – often serving as the first line of communication with our supporters. This position-holder will also need to be closely involved in campaign projects and provide digital strategy to empower the project to maximize impacts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Grasp new digital trend and social environment, have good understanding on target audience and supporters’ insights and behavior based on data, and give sound suggestion to campaign design; skilled in building and managing project schedules and timeline;
● Work on cross-departmental project teams -- and in some cases lead those teams and facilitate the projects -- as well as with the Communications Manager to develop and execute creative digital strategies that help achieve campaign and engagement objectives. Formulate communication strategy and maintain media relationships in projects if assigned by the Communications Manager.
● Work with the Communications Manager to plan and implement social media output strategies on a variety of Greenpeace's platforms in Mainland China including WeChat, Weibo, Douyin etc.
● Developing credible actions for supporters that support the project's campaign and engagement objectives
● Independently create compelling visual content for WeChat and other social platforms to help promote Greenpeace campaigns.
● Working with vendors, consultants and contractors to help implement any proposed engagement plans.
● Coordinate campaign and communications staff to align with the supporter engagement strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor degree or above in the subjects of Communications, Digital Media and related.
2. Work experience in digital content creating, managing and updating, with the knowledge of digital media planning and adoption of new digital tactics.
3. Functional knowledge of social media platforms like WeChat, Weibo and Douyin.
4. Strong interest and passion on environmental protection issues.
5. Experience working in multicultural environment. Fluency in written & spoken English.
6. Commitment to Greenpeace value and mission.
