Job Purpose:
The Inspection & Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities related to apparel production. This role ensures that products meet company standards before shipment and implements corrective actions when necessary. The manager will also supervise third-party inspection agencies, analyze inspection data, and collaborate with the product development and sourcing teams to improve product quality and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
? Lead and manage all pre-shipment inspection activities across internal and external inspection teams.
? Supervise third-party inspection agencies and ensure they follow Cencosud standards, timelines, and protocols.
? Develop and enforce inspection SOPs (inline, final, random AQL, etc.) aligned with product categories and brand standards.
? Consolidate and analyze inspection reports to detect trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement.
? Provide clear and actionable feedback to vendors and factories regarding quality issues and expectations.
? Collaborate with Product Development and Merchandising teams to proactively address risks and define preventive quality measures.
? Set and track KPIs for inspection performance and supplier quality compliance.
? Conduct random audits and factory visits to validate third-party inspection results.
? Train and guide internal inspectors, ensuring strong technical knowledge and consistency across the team.
? Deliver regular reporting and dashboards (including all inspections report results by factory level) to the Product Development Director, including risk analysis and corrective action plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
? Minimum 7 years of experience in garment quality control, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
? Strong knowledge of AQL standards, garment construction, fabric performance, and fit inspection.
? Experience managing third-party inspection agencies (e.g., SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas).
? Skilled in interpreting inspection data and building reports that inform business decisions.
? Fluent in English; Mandarin is mandatory.
? Excellent communication, leadership, and
analytical skills.
? Being proactive in giving opinions, observations,
sharing best practice experience.
? Willingness to travel frequently to factory sites.
