Impact of the role o Responsible for planning, conducting, analyzing, and presenting research results to peers, product managers, and management. They focus on understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through observation and user feedback. o Identify business or technology opportunities in foundational research during the product discovery process. During design research, researchers challenge design assumptions and collect in-depth feedback to iterate on the design. After the launch of a product, researchers measure and benchmark the experience through summative, quantitative measurement. This phase often leads to definitions of new products or projects. o Use qualitative and quantitative social science methods to evaluate user feedback and use collaborative innovation skills to bring those insights to life in a project. o Owns and leads all user research and design of a complex portfolio across several product domains. o Identifies needs, plans and supports UX research and design in their area. Key Responsibilities o Contributes to the product vision in their area. o Influences projects, programs, or initiatives across product domains. o Leverages industry-standard methodologies in a new way or combines methodologies to solve a project need. o Ensures product discovery and user centered design has a demonstratable impact on the user metrics (engagement, adoption, satisfaction) and business metrics on the product and product domain or product division.
