Purpose of this position 職位設(shè)置目的:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) bridges short-term sales and strategic goals for their market field (MF) / customer group (CG). Based on a strategy the BDM drives the growth initiatives within their respective business field in alignment with the Automotive & Industry APAC Management team. Success is measured by how quickly local teams can drive the MF/CG strategically, with interim progress shown through project pipeline and New Book Sales (NBS).
The BDM plays a key role in driving Sika’s strategic growth and has significant opportunities to develop a comprehensive understanding of business operations from multiple perspectives. This role allows the BDM to apply learned knowledge across newly acquired market fields and customer groups, or growing into a professional business manager within Sika’s expanding local and international operations.
Main responsibility 主要職責(zé):
1.Market Strategy Development
- Conduct APAC countries dielectrics market research with local team members, especially JP, KR and TW, measure the Addressable market sizes, and identify growth trends and potential market disruptions.
Analyze the competitive landscape, differentiation factors and benchmarking.
- Identify industry dynamics, customer/end-user needs and pain points.
- Align strategies with Sika’s strengths and internal processes to address strategic gaps.
- Define key growth initiatives and moves including products, application and potential customers revenue and profitability.
- Propose solutions for gaps in expertise, resources, or market access.
2.Product and Project Management
- Focus on growth by driving execution of Key initiatives with measurable targets such as Start of production and New booked sales.
- Develop and implement strategies for product, application, and production for relevant business in close collaboration with the Product Management team, consider and support domestication in other countries.
- Create business cases for internal review and initiate new product development to address gaps following the PCP process.
- Monitor and track key projects to ensure progress while allowing countries to manage base business.
- Actively participation in LETs, portfolio LET’s to drive R&D Initiatives and development, focus on innovative and high-end market.
3. Customer Engagement
- Travel across APAC to create new customer access and engage with customers, gather feedback and market insights, and support local sales teams in implementing initiatives
- Identify and develop new customers and opportunities while promoting innovative and existing solutions.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Present strategies and offerings clearly to APAC A&I head, Area heads, gain buy-in and collaborate on implementation efforts. Provide an independent perspective.
- Align strategy with Corporate. Conduct regular exchange and alignment.
- Work with Marketing, Product management and Technical service to develop presentation, testimonies, samples, communication materials and technical documents to support key initiatives.
- Collaborate with sales teams in target country regularly and provide training to enhance their capabilities.
- Facilitate cross-country coordination to share best practices and drive consistency on regular calls (quarterly or more often based on industry and strategy dynamic).
5. Others:
- Complete additional tasks assigned by management.
- Headcount planning with alignment of each countries.
Requirements 任職要求:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above. Graduated in chemistry, technical engineering or related majors.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication in English, high competent in working with different culture background work styles and different personalities.
3. The ability to travel across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond at least 25% of the time.
4. The ability to thrive in a complex international matrix organization.
5. Systematic and logical way of working.
6. Good at problem solving and constructive solution provider. Active thinking and proactively suggest ideas and innovation solutions. Ability to think beyond a home country-centric perspective.
7. Open to learning new concept and committed to adopting a growth mindset.
8. Knowledge about adhesive technology and product ranges.
9. At least three years’ work experience.
