The Industrial Engineer will be a part of the Manufacturing Development Engineering Team for the Connected Living Solutions Business Unit. TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Development Engineering teams are process leaders for stamping, molding and assembly, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and cost. The Industrial Engineer will need to provide in-depth cost model analysis and cost saving analysis for various manufacturing process and product design scenarios, take initiative to drive continuous improvement for a better product margin in close partnering with MDE team. They will work within a global project team consisting of broad functions. Responsibilities · Leading product cost estimates and margin analysis for NPD part numbers and assure optimal financial performance achievement by deep diving into cost elements like materials cost, conversion cost and various manufacturing scenarios analysis.
· Calculate payback years on capital investment for NPD project and sustaining project, prepare capital needs justifications and CERs and get approval from management.
· Track product cost and margin% for each gate and provide timely cost variance analysis to PMO throughout G1-G6 phase for new product development projects.
· Analyze product cost change and capture cost savings opportunities for various sustaining projects, such as manufacturing process optimization, new tooling or machine build, manufacturing relocation, etc.
· Establish efficiency baseline for each product line and manufacturing process with deep understanding of potential loss factors.
· Build and maintain databases for manufacturing processes and fix assets like tools and machines.
· Support and practice Lean / TEOA initiatives Position Requirements: · Proficient in spoken and written English. · 5 years+ experience in finance or manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing environment. · Experience with progressive stamping, injection molding, electroplating and assembly processes is a plus. · Knowledge of Industrial Engineering methods, cost accounting and financial analysis. · Strong data analysis ability, Excel is fundamental, other tools like Power Query or VBA are a plus. · Energy and ambition to deal with a wide array of projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required. · Being proactive and taking ownership
