Main Duties:
- Assists in the follow up of pre andpost-contract administration of projects assigned;
- Assists in the preparation of tenderbid documents;
- Assists in reviewing workspecifications, take-off quantity, costing and liaise with contractors andsuppliers;
- Understands the contractual terms andworks to ensure that other stakeholders such as Project Team Members, Accountsand Finance understands and complies with the terms;
- Assists the Senior/Project CommercialManagers in providing effective support to Project Team and establishing goodworking relationship with Project Managers, Clients, contractors andsub-contractors;
- Assists in resolving contractual andcommercial issues with clients, contractors and suppliers;
- Assists in the co-ordination of theprocurement of materials and suppliers for the projects and ensuring expenseswithin budget;
- Assists to evaluate contractors andsub-contractors’ bids and in the recommendation of awards for contracts asappropriate;
- Assists in the close monitoring ofproject costs and puts up project cost reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis;
- Assists in cost control of projectsand ensure that all purchases are within budgets;
- Puts up budget reporting on a regularbasis;
- Assists in negotiating with vendorsfor cost reduction of purchases;
- Assists to verify all payments are inorder before payments by Company/Client;
- Assists to monitor all paymentcollections;
- Assists to perform closing of finalaccount;
- Attends to all contract administrationmatters and maintains proper documentation of the project;
- Attends site and other meetings as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies (skills):
- 3 to 5 years of professional working experience in quantity surveying;
- College/Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building Sciences/Engineering;
- Experience in engineering or construction industry preferred.
